Our Story

dell’anima, the beloved West Village Italian restaurant that operated for over a decade before relocating to Gotham West Market, in Hell’s Kitchen, in 2019, makes its return to the neighborhood with a new home at 18 Cornelia Street. The revival is led by longtime partners Executive Chef Andrew Whitney, General Manager Danir Rincon, and Jacob Cohen, each of whom has been part of the dell’anima story since the early 2000s.

After six years of operating a more casual version of the concept at Gotham West Market, the team brings dell’anima back to its roots.

The new space offers a cozy and intimate dining room, a barroom with a walnut-wrapped bar and a window banquette with cantilevered cocktail tables, and a sectioned-off space in the back of the dining room for larger groups of up to twelve.
